Интересно, что
цитирующие перевод этой фразы (кому бы она ни принадлежала) слово Essential, как правило, упускают. Что, по-моему, существенно меняет смысл

You quoted one of our founding fathers! =D

Thank you, I was looking for this quote just yesterday, and could not find it!

My favorite is another quote of one of founding fathers:

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
Thomas Jefferson

How are you? Haven't seen post from you for a long time.

Both Jefferson and Franklin were extraordinarily wise men...

Me? I'm doing good. I'm on my last week of school. This summer as you know, I'll be learning Russian. Maybe you can teach me some of your slang? =))

Hahaha, ok! I have a dictionary of Russian slang, but a lot of the words he uses are not in there. Most of the time I have a hard time guessing what he means! =))

Well... I think it is an ok thing to know, but it depends on how you use it and if you use it. Slang does not necessarily mean 'bad' words. for instance, 'soda' and 'pop' are American slang for a soft drink. neither are bad words. =)

Hey Roman, I thought you might like to look at this. We have them here in the USA, although the government doesn't really like them. =)) Anyway, I have a couple of them, if you would like a hard copy, let me know. I would gladly send you one through the post.

No problem. It's mainly about my government, but it has some interesting quotes, and some founding documents in it.
